God says in the Holy Qur'ān:
"He has ordained for you that religion which he commanded unto Noah, and that which we inspire in you (Muhammad), and that which we commanded unto Abraham and Moses and Jesus, saying: establish the religion, and be not divided therein."
The verse addresses Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings be upon him) and confirms that Almighty God has ordained Islam to Muslims as their religion, it's the same religion that was given to Noah, to Abraham, Moses and Jesus (Peace be upon them). All of them were asked to obey God and not be divided into sects.

The World Islamic Call Society's office in the Philippines has organized an Iftar banquet, which was honored by the presence of the President Ms. Gloria Arroyo and the representatives of the diplomatic corps, officials of the Philippine Government, Muslim and Christian activists, heads of recognized Islamic organizations, mayors of various towns and representatives of the regional Government of the southern Philippines. The function was held on Saturday, September 20, 2008, corresponding to Ramadan 21st.

Sheikh Ahmed Al-Masrawi, Egyptian lead reciter of the Holy Qur'an, has accredited the decision of the Great Jamahiriya for choosing the Qur'an to be the law of the nation and its source of legislation. He praised the Jamahiriya for taking quick steps in serving the book of God in different ways, commending the high regard given by the WIPL Leader Mu'ammar Al-Qaddafi to the holy Qur'an, elevating the status of a memorizer of the holy Qur'an, and equating him to a University graduate or a high certificate holder.
